Equality scheme

Newton Flotman Primary School is committed to ensuring equality of provision throughout the School community. The school value of Accept is about accepting people as they are, without prejudice, Respect is about treating everyone equally and Nurture is about providing what everyone needs to grow. Therefore, our overall equality objectives are as follows:

  • To establish effective systems to communicate the school’s equality duties.
  • To ensure that all pupils make progress including vulnerable groups
  • To ensure that there are sufficient opportunities within the school’s curriculum to address equalities issues
  • To continue to ensure that displays are reflective of the School community.
  • To monitor bullying and harassment of pupils and staff by race, disability and gender, and is this information used to make a difference to the experience of other pupils
  • To ensure that all pupils are given similar opportunities with regards to clubs.
  • To allow equal access to information for all parents
  • To ensure the School environment is as accessible as possible to pupils, staff and visitors to the school.

Equality information and objectives policy 2017 is Newton Flotman’s Equality Scheme.

All schools in England, Wales and Scotland, irrespective of how they are funded or managed, have obligations under the Equality Act 2010. Each school has to publish information showing it is complying with the requirement (clause 149 of the Equality Act 2010) to have due regard for equalities.
